I love seeing what other doll makers do with my patterns. I particularly like it when doll makers use my designs as a jumping off point and then re-invent them with their own special twist.
The enormously talented (and absolutely lovely) Doris Purvis sent me these photos of her doll made from my Soul Whisperer tutorial.
I love how Doris' doll seems to be singing to a little bird perched on her finger.
She's exotic and beautiful don't you think?
Doris also created this wonderful version of Water Lily, from my design.
And this stunning version of my Bea in her Bonnet made from my PDF tutorial.
I think Doris has really nailed getting wonderfully expressive faces on her dolls. Don't you think so?
I also received a lovely message from Lori Houldsworth who used the head from my Gather Ye Rosebuds pattern to makeover a 50 year old angel tree topper doll. You can see in the below photo the dramatic "before" and "after".
Lori tells me she has only made a few art dolls before but she has already excelled herself at shading her doll's face and creating a marvellous expression. Lori you should be very proud of yourself!
Thank you to all the wonderfully talented doll makers who have shared their inspiring work with me this year.
I've managed to convert a few more of my former classes into PDF tutorials and e-patterns and they are all now available in my Etsy shop.
I hope my designs continue to inspire you in 2014!
