I've decided to try something new on the Magic Bean. I'm devoting the whole of the month of March to one theme - historical costuming.
My degree is in theatre design and production and I have a huge passion for historical costume in particular and that passion leaks out into many of my cloth doll designs.
Whenever I teach cloth doll making I tend to share little historical facts. And wouldn't you know it, people are fascinated by all the strange knowledge I have stored up in my brain. I figured if the students in my classes were interested in historical fashion facts, so might my blog readers.
So this month watch out for inspiring costume images on Wordless Wednesday. Free links to historical and vintage tutorials and resources on Freebie Fridays. I'll also be sharing all sorts of interesting historical knowledge throughout the week and most exciting of all, I'll be joined by several guest bloggers throughout the month, all experts in various aspects of historical fashion and vintage loveliness.
Is there anything about historical costuming that you are dying to know about? Is there a particular period that you love best? Do tell.

Hello Colleen -
How wonderful! I'm just starting to make dolls and was interested on how to make clothing for them. In particular clothing for men and women during the Regency & Victorian age. It was so nice to look at your blog today and see that you were going to focus on historical costuming in March. Thank you!
