For those of you who regularly read my blog, you'll know that every Friday I compile a list of free patterns or tutorials related in some way to doll making, usually on a theme, such as Halloween or fairies or a theme based on a technique. This week I decided the theme is simple - free cloth doll patterns that I've found on the net that are new or at least new to me. Here we go, I think this round up of links has some very cool patterns:
Judi Ward has got a brand new free pattern on the web called Wide Eyed Wendy and she is adorable. Click here to see her and download the free pattern.
Michelle Pearson designed this Fairy Godmother pin doll who is just full of personality. Click here to get the free pattern.
This felt fairy pattern does not have an accompanying picture of the finished doll, but I'm pretty good at seeing finished shapes from flat patterns and I think this pattern would make a lovely fairy.
This free Hope the Angel Pattern by Arlene's Originals I've long admired on the net but for some strange reason the links on the page never worked for me - I couldn't figure out how to get the pattern and instructions, but I finally figured a way to access the links. Here is the pattern and here are the instructions.
If you like your dolls to be a bit simpler but funky, then try this doll from Smooch.
If goddess dolls are your thing click hereto see three down-loadable goddess doll form links on the left hand side. There is a bird goddess, a tiny goddess, and a butterfly goddess.
The artist who created the goddess doll forms uses clay faces, however, you could print or trace these faces onto fabric and use them on goddess forms.
I hope something in there has got you inspired. Go forth and create in cloth!

Interesting site, always a new topic .. good luck in the new 2011. Happy New Year!

Thanks Colleen, the Judy Ward pattern is adorable. I haven't made this kind of doll in a long time. Should be fun!
Thanks again,
Paulette
